Seven Days of Service 2021

This tradition began last year during the pandemic as a way to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows and the anniversary of The Grotto.

Please join us for our second annual week of service as we celebrate our 97th Anniversary.

Monday, Sept. 20 – Saving Lives
Inspiration: Jesus Christ
Partner: American Red Cross
Blood Drive 11:45 – 4:40

Tuesday, Sept. 21 – Caring for the homeless
Inspiration: The Seven Holy Founders of the Servite Order
Partner: Blanchet House
Sock Drive 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Grotto Parking Lot
New socks only, please.

Wednesday, Sept. 22 – Care and love for all creation
Inspiration: St. Francis of Assisi
Partners: Your local pet shelters

Thursday, Sept. 23 – Feeding those in need
Inspiration: Servite St. Philip Benizi
Partner: SnowCap
Food Drive 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Grotto Parking Lot
Please bring non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items to fill the shelves of this Northeast Portland food bank.

Friday, Sept. 24 – Caring for women and children
Inspiration: Mother Mary
Partner: Rose Haven
Diaper and Wipes Drive 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Grotto Parking Lot
Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center in Northeast Portland serving women and children experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life changes. Rose Haven was founded in 1997 as a program of Catholic Charities.

Saturday, Sept. 25 – Caring for those with cancer
Inspiration: Servite St. Peregrine Laziosi
Partner: American Cancer Society

Sunday, Sept. 26 – Supporting Education
