Glorious Mysteries Reflection
Meditating and praying the Mysteries of the Rosary can provide an opportunity to reflect on significant moments in the lives of Jesus and Mary. These events can offer insight, inspiration, and new perspectives regarding our daily lives.
The Glorious Mysteries
- The Resurrection of Jesus
The disciples were distraught and lost at the death of Jesus. What joy they must have felt to see him again.
The resurrection of Jesus shows there is life beyond our earthly lives. May the manner in which we live our life now make us worthy to be with Jesus in the next life.
- The Ascension of Jesus: Jesus in human form returns to heaven.
Each follower of Jesus has been called to continue the ministry and teaching of Jesus: to love, to forgive, to work for justice and peace.
- The Descent of the Holy Spirit: Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to remain with his followers forever.
With the descent of the Holy Spirit, the disciples were given courage and wisdom to carry out the work of Jesus. May the Holy Spirit guide us in our actions, thoughts, and words.
- The Assumption of Mary: At the moment of her death, Mary is assumed, body and soul, into heaven.
Mary is called the first disciple of Jesus. Throughout her life she was faithful to Jesus, especially when he was dying on the cross. The Church teaches that Mary was assumed into heaven because of her role in the birth, life, and death of Jesus. May we, too, be trusting and generous in what God asks of us.
- The Coronation of Mary: Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven for her role in the life and work of Jesus.
When the wine ran out at the wedding in Cana, Mary turned to Jesus to help out; as Queen of Heaven, Mary continues to advocate for all who turn to her in their time of need.
